My son and I were in the area and decided to stop for lunch. The menu looked fabulous. The calamari was most likely teetering on not being fresh. My son has it a lot and he said the coating was fine but the calamari itself was slimey. My antipasto salad was a lot of lettuce and anti just about anything else. There were some hunks of packaged ? Summer sausage on it but little else. My sons tortellini was good. We will try something else next time. Mediocre and expensive.

Over priced food as I recall, I didn't have anything I would want again. Location is in an awesome place but fall short of good pizza or anything else

A friend and I went here for lunch with a coupon for buy one get one entree free. We ordered a drink and were sat on the patio with a lovely view. There was nothing on the coupon to indicate that there were any restrictions, but just to be sure, we asked our server what the coupon applied to. She replied that there was no restriction and that the normal rules apply - the paid meal must be a higher cost than the free meal. We ordered our meals and the food was pretty good. With all this said, it was much to our surprise when she brought us our bill and explained that she was sorry. The coupon indeed did have restrictions, there was nothing she could do about the bill, and that she hoped we would come back. Needless to say, this is inexcusable and we will never be dining here again. Extremely disappointed.

First time there, everything we ordered was very good. The atmosphere was also nice not too loud. I would have enjoyed eating outside but a little cool. Their calzone was very good. We would definitely eat there again.

One of better choices for the area (including Chisago County). There's a good view of the lake and a nice outdoor eating area. The food isn't revolutionary, but it delivers what you expect and they have local wine on the menu.

We have eaten there one time in the 13 years we have lived in FL. The pizza was OK at best and the service was horrible! We also picked up a pizza once and it was delicious. Dining in at this restaurant wasn't an option after our first encounter. A close friend of our family use to work there. The lady owner treats her employees like crap! They have to ask permission to speak to her, before they speak to her or she will not acknowledge them! And clearly by reading a couple other reviews on here, we aren't the only ones who thinks she is nuts! Forest Lake is a small community, I am all about supporting our local businesses, but not if they are treating our children that way.

Very pricey!! The owners definitely make your dining experience extremely uncomfortable. If you have to eat their food, then you should order out. DO NOT EAT THERE!!!!!

They have the best Italian Food this side of Chicago. We are on a zone diet so pizza is usually out for us, but we decide to give it a try and found their whole wheat crust pizza just great! They come in three types and we have been back and had them all. The Calzones are unbelievable! They always have a great special going and a fantastic setting overlooking Forest lake.

Great tasting chef prepared meals. Good wine list. I think the fillet mignon can't be beat and enjoy it often. We go out of our way to dine at ZA! Said that before.

Lurking behind every plant and every corner is the female owner of this restaurant. First we arrived to see the "No Cell Phones" rule. Then while we were waiting for our table, she sneaked around and quietly talked to my 11 year old daughter. I did not pay much attention to what their conversation was. We sat down and we received menus for everyone including two kids menus for the obvious children. My daughter and 5 year old were arguing about reading the kids menu, so I asked for one more to alleviate the disagreement. She was visibly upset by my request and made it clear that we had enough kids menus for our table. I asked again for one more and she reluctantly gave me one. After we browsed the menu and decided to order a large pizza and two additional pizzas off of the children's menu. The waiter had no problem with our request. He quickly returned and said, "I apologize but I was given specific instructions to not allow you to order from the kids menu." I talked to my daughter and she explained that the woman asked her how old she was. We would have left right there if we weren't with other guests, so we stuck it out again. We have been longtime fans of ZA for a pizza that is no longer offered on the menu ("The Ruebenesque.") We have tried a few other items and given the restaurant a couple tries. After our many experiences with the "Pizza-nazi", we have come to the conclusion that if the food were worth it we may put up with her attitude, but it is not so we will not be going back. This restaurant is not kid-friendly because you always get the feeling that they would rather you left the kids at home. Also they do not have a changing table in the bathroom.

Not surprising that Za! is for sale given that the controlling female owner doesn't have a clue about customer service. We stopped going a few years back. The food was good but having to comply with her silly and unnecessary encyclopedia of rules for customers sounded the death knell for her restaurant.

Out of the very few options to go out to dinner at a sit down restaurant in Forest Lake me and my boyfriend decided to stop in to Za Pizzeria and we were surprised at how busy they were. It kinda looked like a very small hole in the wall, ma and pa restaurant but when we walked in it was fairly large and almost full on a Friday evening. Very family friendly place but also quiet enough for a nice couples dinner. Our wait staff was wonderful and the food was good as well. We had the Lobster Bisque for an app and then the traditional pasta in marinara sauce with a large meat ball. Nothing extra but just what we expected. The only thing negative I would have to say is that the the decor has A LOT to be desired. Very old and cheaply put together. We will be going again.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
